feast of football

Working on Feast of Football has been one of my favourite projects to date. The brief for the project was to create a fun, stop-motion style opener for the show, incorporating the updated Feast of Football brand. To bring this to life, I designed props such as collectible-style football cards, team sheets and music sheets, which were then photographed, stylised and integrated into the video.

The project was produced using a variety of Adobe software, including Photoshop for colour adjustments, Illustrator for creating the props and After Effects to bring everything together and make it come alive.

THE FINAL OPENER

the creative process

Feast of Football began with the idea to transform the previous year’s branding to make it more cohesive and exciting. So, I came up with the idea to create a stop motion opening graphic sequence for the titles, where the assets can be used for branding and social e.t.c.

After researching iconic Welsh football imagery and the history of Welsh football, after a design debrief, I started creating assets such as collectible card-style graphics of iconic players such as Gareth Bale and Jess Fishlock, the iconic Welsh bucket hat with recognisable pins and passport stamps from the opposing teams

I also created player and lyric sheets alongside collecting paper textures which I photographed and self animated to create stop motion-style animations, which I then comped together with fun animated elements
